  • These are some of my Favorite games on PC and some new releases that I’d really love to see on the Nintendo Switch 2. And yes I’ve taken the Switch 2’s performance into account and will describe how I hope they’d run, as well as how I think they probably would run if they came to the NS2.

Without further ado, let’s get to it!

    TL,DR:

    • Forza Horizon 6
    • Doom: The Dark Ages
    • Jurassic World Evolution 3
    • Marvel Rivals
    • Trailmakers

    Forza Horizon 6

Starting off with a BANG! Forza has been a series I have thoroughly enjoyed since FH4. The graphics are stunning and the arcadey simulation with semi-realistic controls is just an absolute joy to mess around in. Now you’re probably asking yourself, “Wait, Forza Horizon isn’t even out yet, how can you estimate the performance?” Well, I can’t, but I can take into account how the previous games acted in terms of performance. Forza Horizon 5 ran comfortably at 60 fps on medium-high settings on a very old but gold GPU, the Nvidia GTX 1060. Now yes, the 1060 is more powerful than the Switch 2 GPU, but if we try to find a direct comparison to the Switch 2 GPU we come up with the GTX 1050 Ti. Now the GPU isn’t a beast in any capacity but… luckily I used the same GPU for over 4 years and guess what, it ran Forza Horizon 5 at 40–60 fps at 1080p medium settings. So if we take the degradation in performance into consideration the Switch should be able to run FH6 at medium-low settings 900p upscaled to 1440p at 40 fps in docked mode (Performance mode) and 30 fps medium-high settings at 1080p upscaled to 1440p (Quality mode). So overall the experience wouldn’t be amazing but definitely more than playable.

    Doom: The Dark Ages

Now this one seems like a no-brainer, since all the previous games are already on the Nintendo Switch 1. Panic Button really pulled off some dark magic with those ports, as they ran insanely well on extremely underpowered hardware. But the Nintendo Switch 2 is much more powerful, meaning this awesome demon-slaying game would likely run at 60 FPS, 900p upscaled to 1440p, on medium settings. I do believe there might be some drops, as the game can get very crowded with enemies on screen. Still, the devs would almost certainly implement a Performance Mode (targeting 60 FPS) and a Quality Mode (targeting 40 FPS). Overall, I think this one is the most likely release out of everything on the list.

    Jurassic World Evolution 3

Oh boy, this is a game I would do unspeakable things to see on the NS2, since I’ve been a huge fan of the previous two. The gameplay in those titles is very satisfying and immersive. The park-building experience is top-notch, plus the management side is amazing—not to mention the massive roster of dinosaur species. If only one game out of all the ones mentioned came to the NS2, it should be this one. Now, about performance… This one isn’t out yet, but we do have a specs list, and the minimum requirements include a GTX 1060. That means the Switch 2 is just slightly behind in raw power. Still, I’m confident this game could run at 30 FPS, Low–Medium settings, 720p upscaled to 1080p in handheld, and 900p Low–Medium upscaled to 1440p at 30 FPS in docked mode. Since the first game is already on the NS1 and ran anywhere from poorly to fairly okay, I believe this sequel could actually thrive on the NS2!

    Marvel Rivals

This one seems really likely, as it’s a very popular hero shooter with medium-high requirements and would run well on the NS2 with the help of Nvidia DLSS — upscaled to 1080p docked from 720p, and 900p upscaled from 600p in handheld mode. The game would likely stick in the high 50s, but with some Switch-specific tuning it might even hold a 60fps lock (though with degraded visuals). Not to mention, almost every big cross-platform hero shooter is already on Nintendo Switch, like Overwatch 1 and 2Paladins (sadly unsupported now), and Rogue Company (which managed good graphics and 60fps on the NS1). I’d really love to see this one come to the Switch 2, it just feels like it should be there!

    Trailmakers

I’ve sunk countless hours into this awesome vehicle sandbox. The gameplay is addictive with all the creations you can build and download not to mention the sheer amount of destruction. This game would fill the “Big 3” role of creative builders: Besiege, TerraTech, and of course, Trailmakers. The game can run on very old hardware. The weakest graphics chip I ever played it on was an Intel HD 620 integrated GPU, where it managed around 40 FPS on potato-quality settings. Now, the Switch 2 is so much more powerful, so I would expect a locked 60 FPS at 1080p upscaled to 4K on Medium–High settings in docked mode, and 900p upscaled to 1080p at the same settings in portable mode. This game would bring a huge wave of creativity that the Nintendo Switch really needs in its library.

    Conclusion

This list is, of course, complete speculation none of these games have been announced for the NS2. But with the performance boost, all of them should run fairly well. I really hope you enjoyed my ramblings! Please tell me in the comments which games you’re craving on this amazing system, and as always, see you in the next one!

  • well lets see how much our wallets will hurt this year shall we,

We will cover all new games anounced for NS2 first party and others

    TL,DR This are the games:

    • Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World
    • Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Switch 2 Edition
    • Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
    • Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion
    • Hollow Knight: Silksong
    • Borderlands 4
    • Kirby Air Riders
    • Cronos: The New Dawn
    • Little Nightmares III
    • Elden Ring – Tarnished Edition

so lets start off light with…

Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World

    Comming on: August 28, 2025

As I said, we are starting off light, as this game is essentially a Switch 2 upgrade with additional DLC. Kirby and the Forgotten Land was Nintendo’s fairly successful attempt to give the Kirby mainline series the Mario Odyssey treatment, and you know what—it worked. The base Switch 1 game plays really well and is super fun, even though it lacks some challenge. It’s a great addition to the Kirby series, but it didn’t reach the highs of something like Mario’s Odyssey. The DLC included with the upgrade pack looks very interesting, mainly focusing on the new map that looks like some sort of crystal islands. Personally, I haven’t played Forgotten Land yet, since the last Kirby game I played was Kirby: Planet Robobot, and I think that’s a really hard game to beat, even though it’s two generations old. I’ll definitely give it a try if there’s enough interest in a fully fledged review.

    Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion

    Comming on: September 5, 2025

As a big fan of the first game, and as a fan of Giant Robots and Mechas, this game is very high on my radar. I’ve only played the Demo for the first game, but oh boy, it felt so good. This game has the potential to steal all my spare time. The Graphics look stunning, and if it controls as well as the first one, this game will be Armored Core 6: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition (with a much deeper Story and Themes, of course). The Demo for this one is already out, and I can’t wait to get my grubby hands on it. All you need to know is Armored Core meets Gundam and if that doesn’t attract you, I don’t know what will.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Switch 2 Edition

    Comming on: October 16, 2025

Now this game I’m excited for. Pokémon Legends Z-A is essentially a rebrand and a whole series revamp in terms of gameplay. Gone are the turn based waiting sessions and lifeless Pokémon. With this upcoming franchise refresh, they are bringing heat literally. I don’t know how the last-gen Switches will handle this one, as yes, it is a cross gen release, but even so, they are releasing two different versions: a Nintendo Switch 1 version and an NS2 version, the latter including graphical enhancements and 60 FPS. The gameplay is reminiscent of Legends: Arceus combined with Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. I’m going to pick up this game on the day of release and will write a comprehensive first impressions review. Overall, if the demos and the Direct aren’t lying, this game will be pure fire.

    Metroid Prime 4: Beyond

    Comming on: Q4 2025

boy, I am excited! The game currently doesn’t have an official release date, but it is slated for late 2025 and will probably release for the holidays I’m predicting December 18.

Now, to the gameplay. The game was featured heavily at the Nintendo Switch 2 event, and from the footage I’ve seen, it looks stunning! The gameplay is very reminiscent of old Metroid games, with so many quality of life improvements. Not to mention, this is the first known Nintendo Switch 2 game to support 120 Hz and seamless mouse-to-controller controls.

In this game, you will follow Samus on her journey through a hostile planet full of nasty creatures wanting to erase you from existence and oh boy, I can’t wait to shoot my way through them.

    Hollow Knight: Silksong

    Comming on: September 5, 2025

This game spent so long in the oven, I really hope it’s not burned. Silksong is the continuation of the critically acclaimed Hollow Knight, a Metroidvania set in a dystopian bug underground world, blending beautiful visuals and intense combat. I’m convinced that Hollow Knight: Silksong will be a contender for Game of the Year, as it has been anticipated for the better part of half a decade. I really hope that the Hollow Knight team doesn’t disappoint, as there are millions of fans wanting to scratch that Hollow Knight itch with new abilities, new Story, more Darkness, and oh so much more Beauty. I really can’t wait to play it.

    Borderlands 4

    Comming on: October 4, 2025

Man! It’s surreal to see Nintendo Switch 2 get a day-one release of a triple A cross platform game. I’m very excited for the carnage of Borderlands 4! I loved the third game and played through the first fistful of missions with my dad in co-op. I sincerely hope they’ll include couch co-op mode, as that’s what makes Borderlands so good! In general, it is a very fun looter shooter, but the option for couch co-op makes it so much better. I am expecting great things from this game, and I know it won’t disappoint.

    Kirby Air Riders

    Comming on: November 20, 2025

When I first heard that this game is releasing this year, I was very confused, as we already got our flagship cart racer, aka Mario Kart World, but… the Nintendo Direct completely changed my mind. The game looks awesome. It’s essentially Mario Kart meets a combat game. The driving itself seems a lot simpler than other racers, but every single character has its own Abilities that you can use to disable Opponents, and every single character can Vacuum up items to change their gameplay, just like in mainline Kirby games. My hype for this game went from 0–100 real quick, and I wouldn’t be surprised if this game slowly surpasses Mario Kart World in sales and popularity, as it is a very fresh idea. I absolutely adore the Game Mode where you essentially play Elden Ring: Nightreign and then race with your collected Abilities. Expect a full written and video review when this gem releases.

    Cronos: The New Dawn

    Comming on: September 5, 2025

Well… I always wanted Dead Space on the Switch, but this genuinely looks so much better. The Graphics look top notch, the Gameplay with the time traveling looks amazing, plus the atmosphere just hits that dark sci-fi spot in my brain that not many games can. And yet again, it is a day one release, cross-platform, which finally includes Nintendo Switch 2 with the whole crowd. I really can’t wait to play this one.

    Little Nightmares III

    Comming on: October 10, 2025

The horror continues with the latest Little Nightmares game. There really isn’t much to say. Both games were spectacular, making my stomach churn and giving me huge clumps in my throat. This is environmental horror at its peak. I’ll most likely wait a bit before picking this game up, as I really want to replay the older ones before getting into this one. Overall, the hype is real!

    Elden Ring – Tarnished Edition

    Comming on: Q4 2025

Well, this is it… this is the end. Man, I really can’t wait to replay Elden Ring on my Nintendo Switch 2, but I’m not too hopeful, as the reviews of the Demo version are very poor; it runs very poorly, which is strange to me, as on Steam Deck it runs perfectly well at 800p, medium-high, 40 FPS lock. So in theory, the Switch 2 could achieve 60 FPS at medium-high, 900p upscaled to 1080p. I really hope they rework and reoptimize the game on this majestic console.

    Conclusion

This year still seems to be jam-packed with a ton of different games for this lovely system. I’m very excited to play and review these awesome games. I hope you all enjoyed this Top 10 Blog, and if you have a different opinion, please feel free to leave it in the comments. This has been AltModeStudios signing out!

  • After spending a bit over 100 hours with this console, I think I’m entitled to my own opinion. So, reader, stay tooned and find out how this beefed-up Switch held up in its first 100 hours of use.

    What we will cover:

    • Wear & tear
    • Ergonomics
    • Games catalog

    Hey, hi, and wazza!!!

I’m happy to say I finally spent 100 hours with this glorious second-gen hybrid console. There were some ups and downs, but overall, I’m in love. But why? Read on and find out!

    Wear & tear

First of all, yes, I’m one of those people that doesn’t use any kind of case or screen protector. You can call it lazy, or as I call it, a lifelong durability test. With that being said, let’s dive deep into all the carnage caused by my grubby hands! Welp, sorry to disappoint, but there is no carnage. I didn’t baby my console by any means. It has been thrown, sat on, slammed in a backpack, and nothing yeah, you heard right, not a single visible scratch. So if you’re thinking of buying this magic box and you’re like me, I can vouch you’ll be fine! I would still say get a screen protector for it just in case, but overall, this console is a beast! Speaking of beasts, how did my beastly hands fare with the ergonomics?

    Ergonomics

Wow! This didn’t take long… my first sour point… literally! The ergonomics are way better than the Nintendo Switch 1, but uff, they leave a lot of room for improvement. I have average-sized hands with some chunky sausage fingers, and oh boy, playing the Switch 1 for more than an hour was a full-on dead-hand cramp fest. But the Nintendo Switch 2, with its bigger size, fixes a lot in terms of comfort… but still, it hurts so good! If you have medium to large hands, for the love of God, get a grip! I still haven’t gotten a grip, but I did order one so review coming soon!

But same as with the old Switch, if you have small hands, this will be awesome in terms of ergonomics and will feel oh so good!

The takeaway being: medium-large hands = big ouch, small hands = great success! Anyways… get a grip!

    Games Catalog

Now this is a weird one. The games catalog is technically smaller than the Nintendo Switch 1 catalog, but with every new patch there are dozens of games fixed for the Switch 2. But let’s focus on the Switch 2 upgrades and exclusives, because this is the gold we’ve been searching for! In the first 2 months, Nintendo released some true bangers! I personally played Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, and my Shyla Cyberpunk 2077. And I’m happy to say each one was better than the last! The performance was bomb, the graphics were awesome, and the gameplay satisfying! Plus, you still have that massive backlog you haven’t touched yet to play through, so get gaming, samurai!

Now, the elephant in the room: Switch 2 upgrades. Yes, they cost money (some don’t I love you No Man’s Sky). 9,99€ to play Legends of Zelda: TOTK at 60 fps at a higher res and Switch app integration… honestly, I ain’t mad about that! I also tested out some free upgrades like No Man’s Sky and Splatoon 3, and boy, are they awesome! No Man’s Sky looks and plays like a dream (comparable to Xbox Series S and better than Steam Deck), and Splatoon feels ever so nice at 1080p 60fps with improved motion controls!

Overall, I’m very satisfied with the games catalog, and I haven’t even mentioned the upcoming releases! (That’s a whole blog in itself, coming soon!)

    Conclusion

Overall, the 100-hour experience was very fun and super satisfying. I haven’t endured any major bugs and, surprisingly, not a single crash (they were very common on NS1). Like I mentioned in the ergonomics tab, the overall handheld use of the console was great, but the shape still leaves room for improvement. I can’t wait for my grip to arrive. I really hope that they release a hori Split Pad Pro for the Switch 2, as that would fix everything except make it a tad bit less portable.
